Install Android 4.2 Based CM10.1 ROM for Transformer TF101
ASUS is known for quick updates, mostly ASUS roll out all new Android updates to their devices faster than other manufacturers but now it seems that ASUS is now ignoring the original Eee Pad Transformer TF101 tablet but it doesn’t mean that the Android development community will also ignore the tablet, a senior XDA developer member RaymanFX has released the CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM for your Transformer TF101 that lets you to taste the Android 4.2 Jelly Beans.
The CyanogenMod 10.1 is packed with a lot of useful and customizable features, on the other hand Android 4.2 version also brought so many new features such as the gesture-based keyboard, improved notification bar, multi-user support, panorama photography and more.
But it’s also important to note that the CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM is still being updated, so we can expect some bugs like Bluetooth, front camera, and mic (will cause loss of audio if trying to record something) aren’t working currently. Since the developer is working on the ROM to iron out bugs, give it a try to upgrade your Transformer TF101 to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The below guide will walk you through how to install CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM on ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101. ClockworkMod recovery (CWM) should be installed on the tablet. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded files to SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume down and power buttons, when you see words on device, press volume up and it will take you to recovery mode.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform wipe, select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete. Once the installation is done, flash Google Apps in the same manner.
Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
