Install Android 4.2-Based CyanogenMod 10.1 on Xperia Neo
The Android development community is spreading the Android 4.2 fever on more Android devices via custom ROMs and Xperia Neo is another lucky smartphone that has received it. A recognized XDA developer Zackconsole has ported the CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM to Xperia Neo unofficially that is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
CyanogenMod 10.1 is one of most popular AOSP custom ROM that brings a lot of customizable features to customize the interface of your Android smartphone while offering Android 4.2 features such as gesture-based keyboard, improved camera app with panorama mode, wireless sharing on different devices and more.
However the CyanogenMod 10.1 for Xperia Neo is still under development, some features aren’t working currently such as Camera, Bluetooth and probably more. The developer is trying to iron out bugs from the ROM, so install it to taste new Jelly Beans.
The below guide walks you through how to install CyanogenMod 10.1 on Xperia Neo MT15i. Bean in mind that your Xperia Neo must have unlocked bootloader and ClockworkMod recovery installed. You need to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #1: Download the latest version of CyanogenMod from here [XDA Link] and Google Apps Package.
Step #2: Copy both downloaded zip files to the SD card of your Xperia Neo.
Step #3: Download the Fastboot Package and Required Boot.img to your PC.
Step #4: Unzip the fastboot.zip file into C:\ (C drive) to generate the fastboot folder, then copy the downloaded boot.img to fastboot folder too.
Step #5: On your phone hold down the menu key while plugging it to your PC using a USB cable.
Step #6: Open up the command prompt that you can find from Star Menu>Programs>Accessories.
Step #7: Enter following commands on command prompt to install boot.img:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Step #8: Once the installation is done, unplug phone from PC.
Step #9: Turn the device off.
Step #10: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so reboot phone, you’ll see kernel logo, when LED lights up, press back button continuously until it take you to recovery mode (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to selec
