Install Android 4.2 CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM on Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 has received the Jelly Bean update officially but its elder brother – Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is still waiting for the OTA notification. Hopefully it’ll be happened soon, but those of you can’t wait for that, try the CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM, it has been arrived for your tablet and it’s based on Android 4.2 that is even newer than the Android 4.1.
Android 4.2 brings a lot of new features such as Photo Sphere mode for panorama photography, gesture-based keyboard that suggest words to save your time, improved Google Now app, toggles in Status bar and more. CyanogenMod 10.1 also offers impressive feature list and most of them are customizable that allow you to customize the interface of your Galaxy tab.
But it’s also important to note that the ROM is still under development and contains a few bugs, however the CyanogenMod team is working to make it more stable and iron out bugs. So give it a try to upgrade your Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

ClockworkMod recovery should be installed on your tablet, follow this guide to install recovery and make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #1: Download the latest version of CyanogenMod ROM for Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 from here [XDA LINK] and Google Apps Package.
Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot into the recovery mode by holding down volume up and power button, when screen turn on, leave power button keep the volume key hold to enter into recovery mode (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform wipe, select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. After ROM installation, also install the Google Apps Package zip file.
Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
