Install Android 4.2 Jelly Bean ROM on Galaxy S I9000
A few months ago Samsung said good bye to original Samsung Galaxy S after the release of a Gingerbread update but the Android development community is still paying attention to this awesome smartphone, a recognized XDA developer pawitp has released JellyBean 4.2 ROM that is based on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.
Android 4.2 comes with impressive features such as the gesture-based keyboard, Photo Sphere mode for panorama photography, Daydreams screensaver mode, lockscreen widgets, improved Google Now app and more. It’s AOSP ROM, so it will give a fully stock Android experience.
This JellyBean 4.2 ROM is still under development, so you may face some bugs but everything seems working fine, so you may give it a try to taste the Android 4.2 Jelly Beans.

Be sure to back up everything because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #2: Copy both zip files to the internal storage of your Galaxy S.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.
Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Once the installation is done, also install the Google Apps Package zip file in the same manner.
Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
