Install Android 4.4 KitKat CM11 ROM on Galaxy Ace S5830
The Samsung Galaxy Ace is still a hot platform at least for recognized XDA contributor yajnab. The contributor has released the popular CyanogenMod build 11 for Galaxy Ace S5830 which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
Android 4.4 Kitkat is a lot faster as it’s reportedly optimized for as low as 512MB RAM devices. It brings tons of new functions to your Android Galaxy Ace phone along with minimal interface and fast multitasking. There is special reading mode. You will have a smarter caller ID which arranges your contacts easily and you will have all your messages in one place as well.
CyanogenMod 11 ROM also shines with interesting stuff and apps such as GalleryNext and Apollo file manager application. CM11 is highly customizable so that you can personalize the phone depending on your requirements.
It is important to note that this Galaxy Ace Android 4.4 KitKat CM11 build is still in alpha stage and contains many bugs. However many functions are working such as boot, display, touch, sensors, RIL, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, hardware, SD Card and Tethering(USB and Wifi).
This guide shows you how to install Android 4.4 KitKat on Galaxy Ace with CyanogenMod 11 custom ROM.
Make sure the latest ClockworkMod recovery version or latest TWRP is installed on your rooted Galaxy Ace smartphone. You need to backup everything because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #2: Transfer both downloaded zip files to the internal SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding home and power buttons.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.
Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.
Step #9: Repeat the previous step and install the Google Apps package zip file.
Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot tablet.
