People love to use Ice Cream Sandwich-based AOKP ROMs due to its customizations. Recently its latest build 34 released and XDA developer “pimpmaneaton” has made EyeCandy 0.8 custom ROM that based on AOKP for your HTC Sensation, the developer adds so many new features in ROM but the ROM is still in development and has some bugs like  Bluetooth takes time to activate, Gallery doesn’t play videos until you connect USB, it’s not compatible with SuperWipe.zip, 420p video recording isn’t working, call volume too loud, some occasional Audio issues and bugs in Bluetooth – ID3 Tags.

But if you really want to taste AKOP on your HTC Sensation, just follow below guide to install it but first keep in mind that your device must berooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed its battery should be charged. Please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure will wipe all data, you can use this app to backup. Remember it’s just for HTC HTC Sensation and not compatible with any other HTC Sensation variants. The bootloader of your device should be unlocked.

DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.

Instructions

Step #1: Download EyeCandy 0.8 to PC.

Step #2: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.

Step #3: Transfer the downloaded file to internal SD card of device.

Step #4: Disconnect the device from PC.

Step #5: Turn the device off.

Step #6: Reboot the device into recovery mode by simultaneously pressing and holding down the Volume Down and Power buttons.  On the succeeding HBOOT screen, use volume key to navigate and power to select, there select the “Recovery” option. When you reach the screen with the red exclamation mark, press the Volume Up and Power buttons at the same time.

Step #7: In recovery mode, make a Nandroid Backup of current ROM so that you can always have a restore point if something should happen when installing or trying out this ROM. You can perform a backup in recovery by selecting “Backup and Restore” then selecting “Backup”.

Step #8: After that perform a complete wipe, first Select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset”, then select “Wipe Data/Factory reset” on the screen that follows. After that select “Wipe Cache Partition” and confirm on next screen then Select “Advanced”, then select “Wipe Dalivk Cache”, and confirm on screen that follows.

Step #9: Return to the main recovery menu and select “Install zip from SD card.”  Select “Choose zip from SD card”.  Browse for the ROM file, once you’ve selected confirm on next screen to start installation.

Step #10: AROMA installer will appear, you need to select a kernel to use and your customization, but please don’t select Themed talk app.

Step #11: Once the installation finish just select “Go back”, then select “Reboot system now” to reboot your device. Once the device rebooted, left it stand by for 5 to 6 minutes. After that turn off and reboot again. And you’re done. Enjoy!
