We already has seen many releases for the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 from Android development community and the work is still in progress and hopefully will be continue until Samsung release Galaxy Tab 3. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has just received AOKP Jelly Bean ROM, we’re not sure the tablet will get official Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update soon, so you should taste Jelly Bean on your Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 via this AOKP ROM.

The Jelly Bean brings a smooth experience, and it comes with many new features such as Google Now app, advance keyboard and notification bar, improved camera app and more. The AOKP is also known for its customizable features that allow you to customize the different aspects of interface.

Take look at below guide to learn how to install AOKP Jelly Bean ROM on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, do keep in mind that this build is just for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113 Wi-Fi only, US Variant and the ClockworkMod recovery should be installed on your tablet, be sure to follow our this guide to install ClockworkMod. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps. Tablet battery must be charged.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the AOKP Jelly Bean ROM package (aokp_p5113_Aug-27-12.zip) and also download GApps (Google Apps) (gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip).

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded .zip files to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by pressing and holding down volume down and power buttons, when screen turns on, leave power button but not volume down key until you enter in recovery mode (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Once it done, also install the Google Apps package .zip file in the same manner.

Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”

That’s it, the AOKP Jelly Bean is now installed on your Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, if you faced any issue, do comment below.
