Install ClockworkMod or TWRP Recovery on Sprint Galaxy S3 With No Trouble
The ClockworkMod (CWM) and TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) both are most popular custom recoveries out there for Android devices, both are well-known due to their amazing features like you can easily install custom ROMs and MODs, you can take the backup of you device firmware and wipe it when you need. Recently a senior XDA developer member named cybrnook released their latest versions, ClockworkMod recovery 6.0 and TWRP recovery 2.2, for the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 variant.
Here’s easy method to install them on your Sprint Galaxy S3, both has similar features, you can use any of them you like the most. Before installation make sure you’re using Windows PC with Sprint Galaxy S3 USB drivers installed, you can download drivers from here and for safety be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #1: Download your favorite custom recovery from following links to your PC:
Step #2: Download the Odin3-v3.04.zip
Step #3: Unzip the downloaded Odin3-v3.04.zip into a folder.
Step #4: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin.
Step #5: Turn the device off.
Step #6: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down volume down, home and power buttons, when a warning screen appear on the screen leave all buttons, then press the volume up button and it will take you to download mode.
Step #7: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #8: Click on PDA Button and recovery .tar that you downloaded in first step (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #9: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again.
Step #10: That’s it, you’re done, unplug your Sprint Galaxy S3 from the PC.
