Install ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0 on HTC One V

Almost everyone of you know about the ClockworkMod Recovery, the ClockworkMod (CWM) has become a famed due to its easy to use interface, it’s pretty easy to install .zip files having custom ROMs, MODs and other tweaks using CWM recovery, it lets you take the backup of your Android device’s ROM and wipe device too when you need.

Not a while ago, Koushik Dutta (ClockworkMod’s developer) updated the CWM recovery to the version 6.0, the latest ClockworkMod recovery version 6.0 lets you to take faster backups and smaller too, it has UI tweaks and the 2GB backup restoring bug also has been fixed. It features a new backup format that duplicate data between backups. Recently a recognized XDA contributor Lloir released the ClockworkMod recovery 6.0 for the HTC One V.

The below guide will walk you through how to install ClockworMod recovery on HTC One V. Do keep in mind that the bootloader of your phone must be unlocked, you can use this all-in-one toolkit to unlock bootloader or follow this guide to unlock bootloader (follow just above section), use a Windows PC and USB device drivers also should be installed on it, you can use HTC Sync to install drivers.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the following required Fastboot.zip file and the latest version of ClockworkMod recovery from here [XDA Link] to your PC.

Step #2: Unzip the downloaded fastboot.zip file on PC, you’ll get fastboot folder containing four files. Then also copy the downloaded recovery.img to fastboot folder.

Step #3: Turn off your HTC One V.

Step #4: Reboot the phone into bootloader mode by holding down volume down and power buttons, in bootloader mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select, you need to select fastboot option to enter in fastboot mode.

Step #5: Once you’re in fastboot mode, plug the phone to PC using USB cable.

Step #6: Run command prompt and go to fastboot folder, if you’re using Windows 7, you can open command prompt directly from fastboot folder, to do so, open fastboot folder, then on your keyboard holding down shift button while pressing right click on mouse on empty area of folder, then select ‘Open command window here’.

Step #7: Enter following command on command prompt, it will show the serial number of phone, which means, the device is successfully connected to PC, if it doesn’t show the serial number, USB phone drivers aren’t installed on PC properly.

Step #8: Enter following command to install recovery.img:

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Once the recovery is installed, you’ll get a message saying finished/OKAY message

Step #9: Enter another following command to reboot the phone:

fastboot reboot 

That’s it, the ClockworkMod recovery 6.0 is now installed on your phone, to enter in recovery mode, put phone in bootloader mode, there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode. If you faced any issue do comment below, you can also visit the original thread of XDA link given in first step.
