Install ClockworkMod Recovery for AT&T Galaxy Note 2


Need a custom recovery for AT&T Galaxy Note? Well! The ClockworkMod recovery has been arrived for your newly purchased AT&T Galaxy Note 2, now you can try any custom ROM to improve the performance of your phone or to get new tweaks. You can easily perform backups and wipe device with CWM recovery.

This guide shows you how to install ClockworkMod recovery on AT&T Galaxy Note 2. You need a Windows PC with USB phone drivers installed, download 32 bit (x86) Windows drivers from here and 64-bit (x64) Windows drivers from here. Disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, etc because they can disturb the installation.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the ClockworkMod Recovery (cwm6-recovery-i317.tar.md5) to your PC.

Step #2: Download Odin3_v3.04.zip to your PC too and unzip it into a folder.

Step #3: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin3_3.04.exe.

Step #4: Turn the device off.

Step #5: Reboot the device into download mode, to get phone into download reboot it by holding down volume down, home and power buttons. When screen turns on, press the volume up button and it will take you to download mode.

Step #6: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).

Step #7: Click on PDA Button and locate cwm6-recovery-i317.tar.md5 that you downloaded in first 1 (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).

Step #8: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again.

Step #9: Unplug phone from PC.

That’s it, the ClockworkMod recovery is now installed on your AT&T Galaxy Note 2, to get phone into recovery mode, turn it off and reboot it by holding down volume up, home and power buttons. If you faced any problem, do comment below!
