Install ClockworkMod Recovery for Motorola Razr HD XT926 (Verizon)
Verizon Droid Razr HD developer edition users can now easily install custom ROMs, perform backups and wipe, the ClockworkMod recovery for Razr HD XT926 is now available and you can easily install it, thanks to hardworking developers of XDA.
Read on how to install ClockworkMod recovery for Verizon Razr HD. Make sure the bootloader of your phone is unlocked and it’s rooted, you can unlock the bootloader officially from here. If your phone isn’t rooted, head over to this guide to root your Razr HD. Android ADB also should be installed on your computer, you can follow our this guide to install them. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.
Note: If you own a non-Verizon Droid Razr HD having model number XT925, follow this guide to install ClockworkMod Recovery.

Step #1: Rename the stock recovery, because stock recovery may replace the ClockworkMod after reboot. To do so, use any root-enabled file manager app such as file expert. Open the file manager app, go to setting, then scroll to Root Setting and tap on it. Then enable Root Explorer option, then click on Allow/Grant on next popup too. Then enable “Up to Root” and “Mount File System”, then go back to main menu of app, then navigate to /system/etc folder, there rename the RECOVERY.SH file to any name you want.
Step #3: Unzip the fastboot.zip file into C:\, it will extract a fastboot folder having four files, then copy the .img file of recovery to fastboot folder that you obtained.
Step #4: Turn your Motorola Razr HD off.
Step #5: Reboot your Razr HD into bootloader mode by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons, there select AP Fastboot to enter in fasboot mode (you can use volume keys to navigate and power key to select).
Step #6: Plug your phone to PC using a USB cable, you’ll be asked to install drivers, install them.
Step #7: Open up command prompt, you can get from Start menu>Programs>Accessories.
Step #8: Enter following command to enter in fastboot folder:
cd c:\ fastboot
Step #9: Enter following command to generate the serial number of your phone, if it shows serial number, your phone is connected to PC properly:
Step #10: Enter following command to install recovery:
fastboot flash recovery cw-recovery-vanquish.img
Step #11: Enter following command to reboot your phone again into bootloader mode:
Step #12: There select recovery to enter in recovery mode.
That’s it, the ClockworkMod recovery is now installed on your Verizon Droid Razr HD, enjoy!
