Install ClockworkMod Recovery on HTC EVO 4G LTE [How-To]
Well-liked ClockworkMod recovery is now finally available for your new HTC EVO 4G LTE, now you can easily flash custom ROMs, mods, etc, on your HTC EVO 4G LTE, thanks to recognized XDA developer “viperboy”. Developer still working on the recovery, you can’t use touch controls in recovery mode, but you can make a backup of your existing ROM and restore it, you can also install .zip files on your device. Read on how to install ClockworkMod recovery on HTC EVO 4G LTE.
Before you start installation first please note that your device bootloader must be unlocked and it should be root too, you can unlock bootloader here officially and root the device here. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions
Install Via Terminal Emulator
Step #1: Download the latest version of ClockworkMod recovery from here and rename to recovery.img.
Step #2: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.
Step #3: Transfer the downloaded file to root of device’s SD card.
Step #4: Disconnect the device from PC.
Step #5: Download and install Terminal Emulator on your PC.
Step #6: Open Terminal emulator app.
Step #7: Type “su”, type in lowercase without quotes and accept the Superuser prompt.
Step #8: Now type:
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p22
It’ll tell you records in and out and then recovery is installed. To get into recovery, you can type (no quotes) “reboot recovery”. You can also access it by pressing Volume Down + Power while booting up, and then choose “Recovery”. (NOTE: You may need to disable Settings > Power > Fast Boot for this method to work).
Install Via Fastboot
Step #1: Download Fastboot package and latest version of ClockworkMod recovery from here to PC and rename to recovery.img.
Step #2: Make a folder on PC and copy the downloaded recovery image into this folder and unzip the Fastboot.zip into this folder too.
Step #3: Open terminal or command prompt.
Step #4: Turn the phone off and reboot into download mode by hold down Volume Down key + Power button, in bootloader mode use Volume keys to navigate and Power button to select menu and select Fastboot from the bootloader menu.
Step #5: When you’re in fastboot mode, plug the device to PC using USB cable.
Step #6: Make sure you’ve connected device successfully, to do so enter “fastboot devices” on command prompt, it’ll show serial number of phone.
Step #7: Enter following command to start installation:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Step #8: Once the installation is done, enter following command to reboot device:
fastboot reboot
That’s it you’re done, now when you need to boot the device into recovery mode, just turn the phone off and reboot into download mode by hold down Volume Down key + Power button, in bootloader mode select Recovery from the menu and once the red warning triangle appear, press Volume Up and Power simultaneously. Enjoy!
