Install ClockworkMod Recovery Version 6.0 on Galaxy Nexus
Every popular ClockworkMod custom recovery for the Android device has been updated to the version 6.0, now it’s more easy to modify the Android device like installation of custom ROMs, MODs, tweaks, and other medication such as wiping device and taking the backup of existing ROM. The new version has been released for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The new version is pretty faster, it saves the time, it also decrease the size of backup ROMs, the new version comes with numbers of improvements.
Since this is alpha build of ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery, it may has some bugs but many features are working fine which means you’re able to try this version on your Galaxy Nexus, thanks to Koushik Dutta.
Here’s guide for the installation of ClockworkMod recovery version 6.0 but before installation first do note this is just for international GSM Galaxy Nexus and smartphone’s bootloader should be unlocked. Please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps and device drivers should be installed on the PC, you can download them from here.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the ClockworkMod Recovery Version 6.0 and Fastboot Package to your PC.
Step #2: Unzip the fastboot package into C:\ on computer, you’ll get fastboot folder containing 4 files. Then copy the downloaded maguro-touch-test-recovery.img to the fastboot folder too.
Step #3: Turn the device off and reboot into fastboot mode by pressing and holding down Volume down, volume up and power button, it will take the device to fastboot mode.
Step #4: Once you’re in fastboot mode plug the device to PC using USB cable, open command prompt and then enter following command
cd c:\Fastboot
fastboot devices
The above command will show the serial number of the device which means the device is connected with the computer, if the command doesn’t show the number, ensure that drivers are installed on PC.
Step #6: Enter following command to install boot.img, you’ll get finished message once the img is installed:
fastboot flash recovery maguro-touch-test-recovery.img
Step #7: That’s it, now simple enter another following command to reboot the device:
fastboot reboot
