Install ClockworkMod Touch Recovery On Your HTC Desire [How-To]

ClockworkMod Touch Recovery has released for your HTC Desire, its credit goes to XDA-Developers member Yorzua, please note that it well-matched with just HTC Desire devices so don’t try this any other device. Before you start this recover keep in mind that your device should be rooted with ClockworkMod Recovery installed, your device should be 100% charged, and please make a backup of all important information in case data may lose or corrupt during procedure. You’ll also need ADB and Fastboot support, together with relevant device drivers on your PC.

DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.

INSTALLATION

Step #1: Download ClockworkMod Touch Recovery image to your computer and extract it in a folder.

Step #2: Rename the Recovery image file “recovery.img” (without the quotes) to make it easier to type during the flashing process through fastboot.

Step #3: Make sure that the Fast Boot option on your HTC Desire has been style=”text-decoration: underline;”>disabled. You can do this through Settings > Power > Fast Boot, and make sure it is unchecked.

Step #4: Turn off the phone and reboot into Fastboot mode. You can do this by holding down the Volume Down key while pressing the Power button.

Step #5: Once you are in Fastboot mode, connect your HTC Desire to your computer via the USB Cable.

Step #6: On your computer, go to the older where fastboot.exe is located. While holding down the Shift key, right click in the folder and select “Open Command Window Here”.

Step #7: This should open up a command window or DOS prompt.

Step #8: Type the following command in the DOS window: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Step #9: Press Enter. This will initiate the flashing of the new recovery to your device.

Step #10: Once the flashing is complete, select Bootloader in the main hboot menu.

Step #11: Select Recovery. Your phone should now reboot into the new ClockworkMod Touch Recovery that’s it.
