Install CM9 and TouchWiz Based “rEmIxRoM” ROM on Galaxy S GT-I9000
Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 won’t get official Ice Cream Sandwich update but hardworking developers over XDA are with you to get rid of this problem. A new custom ROM rEmIxRoM for your Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000, the ROM is based on latest Ice Cream Sandwich CyanogeMod 9 nightly build and it also includes TouchWiz, thanks to XDA developer “monish1995”.
It’s ROM brings stock Ice Cream Sandwich experience on your Galaxy S, the ROM has newest Google apps, it also features MIUI (well-known custom ROM for Android devices) Player with Widget and Google Play Music Modified for better Touchwiz Look. The rEmIxRoM is very fast and it’s stable for daily use. But the ROM is still in development which means it may has bugs but it’s stable so you can try it on your Galaxy S.
Read on how to install rEmIxRoM on Galaxy S, but first note that the ROM is for Galaxy S model number GT-I9000, you can check the device detail from Setting>About Phone, your device should be on XXJW4 firmware and rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed. Phone battery should be charged, make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps and lastly remove that SIM card lock from Settings>Location and Security>Sim card lock, if it’s enabled.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the rEmIxRoM ROM and Google apps to PC.
Step #2: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.
Step #3: Transfer the downloaded file to internal SD card of device.
Step #4: Disconnect the device from PC.
Step #5: Turn the device off.
Step #6: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons until the screen turns on in recovery.
Step #7: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #8: Perform full wipe, first select Wipe Data/Factory Reset and confirm on next screen, then select Wipe Cache Partition and lastly select Wipe Dalvik Cache.
Step #9: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. The device will reboot during installation and continue installation, if the device just reboot and doesn’t start installation, start installation again from step 8.
Step #10: Repeat the previous step to install the Google apps package.
Step #11: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”

hey i updated my i9000 with this rom and its working really really good but the thing disappointed me is i am not able to connect to my mobile network, and when i go for network setting it shows “CANNOT CONNECT TO NETWORK NOW TRY LATER”. I liked the rom very much but i am not able to use it can you please suggest me something. THANK YOU.

hi param …..u need to …back up the apn setting before u install those things …….after installing …u have to restore …
it might help ….or simply download APN back up apps…
