Install CyanogenMod 10 for Droid Razr HD XT926 [How-To]
The Motorola Droid Razr HD is one of high-end smartphone of this year, it features powerful specs and features such as 1.5GHz Dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, dual-cores, 8MP camera and more but it still comes Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich instead of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. However the Android development community has provided the CyanogenMod 10 that upgrades it to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Cyanogenmod 10 (CM10) is AOSP-based custom ROM, it will give you a stock Android experience but with less bloatware, it offers a lot of customizable features that let you to customize the interface of your phone according to your own choice. Even it features a useful file manager app and theme manager app with many fan-made themes to give a stunning look and feel to your Razr HD.
But it’s still being updated and contains a few bugs, it may not be fully stable for the daily drive. Developer will update it with the passage of time to iron out bugs. However if you really want to taste the Jelly Bean, this guide shows you how to install CyanogenMod 10 on Verizon Droid Razr HD XT926.
It’s important to note that it’s just for Verizon Razr HD developer edition having model number XT926, don’t try it on any other variant, you can check your device detail from Setting>About Device. The bootloader of your phone must be unlocked, you can unlock it officially here. Make sure a custom recovery is installed on your Razr HD, you can follow our this guide to install ClockworkMod custom recovery and this guide to install TWRP custom recovery. You need to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #1: Download the CyanogenMod 10 ROM and Google Apps package from XDA – Link is at the bottom of post.
Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so reboot the phone by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons, it will reboot phone in bootloader mode, there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup on CWM recovery, select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again, if you’re using TWRP, select “backup” and then slide to blue to button to confirm the action.
Step #6: Perform wipe, for CWM select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen, for TWRP select wipe, then select factory reset.
Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.
Step #8: Here you need to install the CM10 ROM, to do so for CWM select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. If you’re using TWRP recovery, select “install” and locate ROM .zip file.
Step #9: Once again repeat the previous step and install the Google Apps package in the same manner.
Step #10: Once the installation is completed, for CWM select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot the phone and for TWRP recovery, select “reboot system now” to reboot the phone.
That’s it, the CyanogenMod 10 is now installed on your Motorola Razr HD and you’re on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. If you faced any issue in installation, holler in the comment section.
