If you are a user of Samsung Captivate and looking here and there to install Doc’s Master Android 4.0 (ICS) ROM for this device you are on a right place below you can see step-by-step guide for this purpose. Here I’d like to say that this guide is applicable only for AT&T’s Samsung Captivate i897 so, don’t try this for any other device. Also make sure that you have manage your back-up because the below steps can damage your valued data.

You need a fully charged battery for this purpose and you can download ROM here you also need the drivers you can download drivers from here

DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.

Instructions

Step 1

Firstly download Doc’s Master ICS ROM version 2.  Do not extract the ZIP file. After that you need to use the USB cable to connect the device to your PC.

Step 2

Make sure the phone is unlocked so that the PC can properly recognize the device.

Step 3

Copy the ROM file into the root directory of the internal SD card. And Turn Off the device (disconnect it from the PC currently)

Step 3

Hold down both the Volume Up and the Volume Down keys while at the same time pressing the Power button to Boot the device again and go into ClockworkMod Recovery.

Step 4

Select “Backup & Restore” from the main recovery menu and then go to “Backup” so you can back-up the existing ROM. Also do a complete wipe by choosing “Wipe data/Factory Reset” from the main menu.

Step 4

Go into “Wipe Cache Partition” to clear the system cache.

Step 5

After that Wipe the Dalvik cache as well. This option can be found under the “Advanced” menu. Now you need to Format the system.  You’ll find the option for doing that inside the “Mounts and Storage” menu.

Step 6

Now choose “Install Zip from SD card” from the main menu and after that choose “Choose zip from SD card” to return to the main recovery menu.

Step 7

Search for the file that we copied into the device earlier and then select it. This will start the flashing of the ROM.

Step 7

When DONE, go back to the main menu and then choose “Reboot system now”.
