Install DooMRecovery Based on ClockworkMod Recovery on Sony Xperia S

A brand new smarter version of ClockworkMod Recovery for Sony Xperia S, DooMLoRD is a well-know XDA Developer member, he developed this DooMRecovery for Sony Xperia S. This recovery has new useful new features like a full touch interface, Swipe gesture support, Haptic feedback, Shows current time (when recovery was entered/started), Uses new Roboto font from the latest CWM repo, The Select Update.zip menu gives you the option to “show file details” to show the file size (in bytes) and the MD5SUM of the selected file, Added Advanced Reboot menu, and added Advanced Backup menu which allows you to selectively choose which portions to back up.

Developer changed the “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” option to simply “Factory Reset” and detailed the partitions which will be wiped. However the recovery is still in beat stage Developer mentioned following bugs:

  • all backups are done get time stamp of year 1970 dont know why this happens but i am trying to sort it out some how
  • the recovery sometimes hangs – just press power button it will restart recovery without rebooting device
  • there are some graphics glitches
  • backups created with v01 recovery might give errors while restoring using v02 recovery

DooMRecovery is from DooMLoRD’s DooMKernel, so you’ll have to install DooMKernel. If you’re interested follow below guide to install this recovery.
