Install Galaxy Note 2 Multi-Window MOD on Galaxy S2

Back in October, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 received the XXALJ1 firmware that brings the multi-window feature, for unfamiliar the multi-window feature allow you to use two apps at a time in one window and if you love multi-window and own a Samsung Galaxy S2, here’s something interesting for you. A senior XDA developer member mythtrandyr has ported the Galaxy Note 2 feature MOD to the Galaxy S2 and it’s fully working as you can see the above screenshots. This MOD isn’t limited to multi-window feature but also has icons shortcut on lockscreen, ripple lockscreen, skip songs with volume rocker, no homebutton lag and four ways to reboot your Galaxy S2.

This guide shows you how to install Galaxy Note 2 feature on Galaxy S2, but do keep in mind that your Galaxy S2 must be on XXLSJ Android 4.1.2 firmware deodexed ROMS, you can follow our this guide to install XXLSJ firmware.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Galaxy Note 2 multi-window MOD for Galaxy S2 from here.

Step #2: Place the zip file to your phone’s internal SD card.

Step #3: Turn off your phone and reboot into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons.

Step #4: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything goes wrong, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state.

Step #5: Install downloaded MultiWindow_AllApps_LSJ.zip file.

Step #6: Reboot your Galaxy S2.

That’s it, now you’re able to use multi-window feature even have icons shortcut on lockscreen, ripple lockscreen, skip songs with volume rocker, no homebutton lag and four ways to reboot the phone, enjoy! If you experience any error, holler comment.

Hi
I downloaded the multiwindows all apps lsj zip file. I put it on my external sd card. I turned off the phone and put in recovery mode. I installed the zip from the ext sd card. Then rebooted the phone. It seemed to work to some decree as I have the ripple affect on the lock screen but only 3 short cut icons not four. The multiwindows bar ia there with the icons on but when I move an icon to the main screen it fills the screen .I then move another icon from the multiwindows bar the screen sometimes splits in two but both applications are not on the screen only the second one. Please help

  All apps don’t work with multi-window even on Galaxy Note2, just a few Samsung apps, Google Apps and twitter has been tested, hopefully Samsung will update this feature to add support for more apps.

Well, i got it…nice, i found on xda.
But, can u provide multi window for samsung galaxy tab 10.1 3g.
Multi window on tabs wud be awesome than on mobile.

  you’re right but nor Samsung hasn’t released the multi-window for any tablet yet neither any developer has developed unofficially for the tablet….

one more problem in this mod is I m not able to access accounts setting it force closes after installing this mod have to reinstall ROM to rectify it please resolve these issues

I donloaded multi window zip file. In recovery mode i cant find nandroid backup for current rom. I rooted nd updated 4.1.2… how to create nandroid backup for curtent rom… my moble model s s2 GT-i9100… give any suggestions plz…

same issue with chris robins.tell me whats going on?i have a deoxed 4.1.2 jb on galaxy s 2 and even it works at first after close and open my mobile it wont let me drag and drop either have half split screen.answer me pls what to do.
