Install HTC One ICS With Sense 4.0 ROM “OrDroid” On HTC Sensation [How-To]
HTC One has great features, and here’s good news for the owners of HTC Sensation. A new ROM has released for their device “OrDroid” with Sense 4.0 user interface, it based on Ice Cream sandwich and latest leaked RUU firmware 1.53.401.3 for the HTC One S, thanks to XDA member shnizlon for this effort. It’s pre-rooted ROM so you’ll no need to root your device after installing it and it features SuperSU and BusyBox, as well as options to install AOSP apps and to remove HTC apps. However it has still some bugs such as Bluetooth and some other.
If you’re interested follow below guide to install it, but keep in mind that your device must be rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed its battery should be charged. Please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure will wipe all data, you can use this app to backup. Remember it’s just for HTC HTC Sensation and not compatible with any other HTC Sensation variants.
DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.
Step #1: Download latest version of this ROM (OrDroid_V1.7.1.zip, md5sum: 29038dfd96c0cf4c2f86142453942053) and also download incremental update package to upgrade to version 1.7.2 (OrDroid_V1.7.2_Incremental.zip, md5sum: 242db2d7ec2cf9c90a50437709f1324f).
Step #2: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.
Step #3: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.
Step #4: Disconnect the device from PC.
Step #5: Turn the device off.
Step #6: Reboot the device into recovery mode by simultaneously pressing and holding down the Volume Down and Power buttons. On the succeeding HBOOT screen, select the “Recovery” option. When you reach the screen with the red exclamation mark, press the Volume Up and Power buttons at the same time.
Step #7: In recovery mode, make a Nandroid Backup of current ROM so that you can always have a restore point if something should happen when installing or trying out this ROM. You can perform a backup in recovery by selecting “Backup and Restore” then selecting “Backup”. After that perform a complete wipe:
- Select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset”, then select “Wipe Data/Factory reset” on the screen that follows.
- Select “Wipe Cache Partition”, then confirm the wipe cache partition on the screen that follows.
- Select “Advanced”, then select “Wipe Dalivk Cache”, then confirm the Dalvik cache wipe on the screen that follows.
Step #8: Return to the main recovery menu and select “Install zip from SD card.” Select “Choose zip from SD card”. Browse for the full ROM package that you copied to the phone. Select the file and confirm the installation by selecting “Yes – Install OrDroid_V1.7.1.zip”. It may take 5-10 minutes for the installation process to finish.
Step #9: Flash OrDroid_V1.7.2_Incremental.zip in the same manner as in last step.
Step #10: Once the installation finish just select “Go back”, then select “Reboot system now” to reboot your device. Once the device rebooted, you need to disable all animations. You can do this by heading to “Settings > Display” and turn off all animations. That’s it enjoy, don’t forget to comment below.
