Install ICS-Based AOKP ROM on HTC One X
AOKP ROM is familiar due to its customization options that based on AOSP Ice Cream Sandwich, which means AOKP is open source ROM. A few days ago MIUI 4 and CyanogenMod 9 both well-known ROMs released for HTC One X and now finally the wait is over now and AOKP ROM is also available for you HTC One X, AOKP no bloatware and brings a clean and fast experience on your HTC One X. AOKP ROM has lots of great features.
The ROM is still in development stage, which means you can expect some bugs like developer mentioned that Camera, Wi-Fi Hotspot and hardware video decoder is not working, but in next build developer will fix these bugs, continue reading to install AOKP ROM on HTC One X.
Follow below guide to install this awesome ROM, but first as usual keep in mind that ClockworkMod recoverymust be installed on your device and its booloader should be unlocked too. Device battery should be charged, make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup to back apps, and USB drivers should be installed on PC, you can use HTC sync to install USB drivers but during installation HTC Sync should not be running.

Step #2: Download fastboot package and unzip into C:\ on computer, you’ll get fastboot folder then unzip ROM file, you’ll get boot img transfer it into fastboot folder.
Step #3: Turn the device off and reboot into bootloader mode by pressing and holding down Volume down and power button, there use volume keys to navigate and power to select, and select fastboot mode.
Step #4: Once you’re in fastboot mode plug the device to PC using USB cable, open command prompt and then enter following command
Step #5: Now enter another command that will show device serial number, which means the device is successfully connected:
Step #6: Enter following command to install boot.img, you’ll get finished message once the img is installed:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Step #7: Unplug the device from PC, and on device select HBOOT, then select RECOVERY.
Step #8: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #9: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation, then wait till AROMA installer open. After that just follow on screen instructions to flash.
Step #10: Repeat last step on install Google apps on device.
Step #11: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
