Install ICS-Based Tirami Slim ROM on Galaxy S
Samsung will not release the Ice Cream Sandwich for the original Samsung Galaxy S but since Android is a open source operating system, Galaxy S users can easily taste everything with custom ROM and here’s another great custom ROM named Tirami Slim for the Samsung Galaxy S. The ROM is based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, in fact the ROM is ported from Slime ICS AOSP based ROM.
The ROM is power by AROMA Installer that lets you to customize the installation of custom ROMs on the Android devices, it will improve the touch controls, it features beautiful interface, in a nutshell this custom ROM will give you a great Ice Cream Sandwich experience, thanks to XDA developer member DjSound.
The ROM comes with number of new features like it has improved Launcher of Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Task manger as option in the AROMA Installer, HTC Keyboard, Sony Walkman Player, new boot animations, inverted talk, improved APEX launcher, Titanium Backup app that will allow you to backup the device data and much more. It’s the final version of ROM, it’s really stable for daily use and fast.
Before the installation first make sure that your Galaxy S is on XXJW4 firmware and rooted with ClockworkMod recovery install, you can check the device detail from Setting>About Phone, you can install the XXJW4 firmware here, after that root and install ClockworkMod recovery on the device here. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps and charge the device battery because the device may get turned off during the process.

Step #1: Download the Tirami Slim Ice Cream Sandwich ROM to PC.
Step #2: Copy the downloaded ROM file to internal SD card of device.
Step #5: Turn the device off and put it into CWM recovery, just hold down the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons until the screen turns on in recovery.
Step #7: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #8: Perform full wipe, first select Wipe Data/Factory Reset and confirm on next screen, then select Wipe Cache Partition and lastly select Wipe Dalvik Cache.
Step #9: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.
Step #10: After installation, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
