Install Jelly Bean AOKP on Galaxy S2 I9100G [Build 2]


Not a while ago the Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100g variant received AOKP Jelly Bean build but it lacked some of useful customization features, as most of you know well that the AOKP ROM is famous for so many customizable features, the good news is that, a recognized XDA contributor bajee11 has just released another new Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean based AOKP build unofficially for the Galaxy S2 I9100G. But since the ROM is still being updated, you still might some bugs.

Continue reading to learn how to install AOKP Jelly Bean build 2 on Galaxy S2 I9100G, do keep in mind that your smartphone must be on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich XXLPQ firmware, you can check your device detail from Setting>About Phone, if you’re on XXLPQ, follow our this guide to install this firmware. The ClockworkMod recovery also must be installed on your phone, you can follow our this guide to install ClockworkMod on your phone running XXLPQ firmware. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the AOKP Jelly Bean build 2 from here  and also download Google Apps from here or here.

Step #2: Transfer both downloaded .zip files to the internal SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.

Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #9: Once again, repeat previous step and install Google Apps package .zip file in the same manner.

Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
