Install Jelly Bean AOKP on HTC Desire GSM
HTC Desire has received another Jelly Bean build, the AOKP Jelly Bean ROM has been released for the HTC Desire GSM, thanks to senior XDA developer member vijendrahs, the ROM is based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and is packed with a lot of useful feature that make it a decent custom ROM around but it’ still under development stages, so bugs and issues can be expected like video recording isn’t working now, however other necessary features are working fine.
Take a look at below guide to learn how to install AOKP Jelly Bean ROM on HTC Desire GSM, your smartphone must have S-off and ClockworkMod recovery installed, it must be running an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM, you can follow our this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery and can try DianXinOS ROM. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the latest version of AOKP Jelly Bean ROM from here and Google Apps from here.
Step #2: Transfer both downloaded .zip files to the internal SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume down and power buttons, first the phone will enter in bootloader/Hboot, there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: From the main menu, select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.
Step #8: Once again, repeat previous step to install Google Apps .zip file in the same manner.
Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
