Install Jelly Bean Based CM10 on Galaxy Tab P1000 [Nightly Build]

When Samsung launched the original Samsung Galaxy Tab, it runs Android 2.2 Froyo, after some months, Samsung released Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for it and after that Samsung said good bye to the tablet but Android development community is still determined to get the latest Android operating system version using different custom ROMs, that’s why the tablet recently received CyanogenMod 10 (CM10)  ROM that based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

The CM10 is AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based ROM, so it will give you fully stock Jelly Bean experience and it brings a smooth interface to your tablet. The Jelly Bean also comes a decent punch of features such as advanced camera, keyboard and notification bar, it features new search feature and Google Now app.

The CM10 ROM is still under development, so it might contains some bugs like the back camera crash while you’re taking photos , however the CyanogenMod team will iron out bugs soon in near future.

Take a look at below guide to learn how to install Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean based CyanogenMod 10 on Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000. Do keep in mind that this CM10 build is just for Samsung Galaxy Tab GSM variant model number GT-P1000 and the ClockworkMod Recovery must be installed on the tablet. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

I installed the ROM today. However, there is no keyboard application inside. Therefore I am not able to initiate my account on Tab. When I try to go settings of “Language&inputs” and try to add keyboard, settings application is crashing. Did I miss something ? (I applied your instructions to install it.)

I am now on Gingerbread (Stock Android Rom). Is it possible for me to flash this ROM? Is it more stable than the stock gingerbread from Samsung?

Also, can I flash the original rom from Cynogen Mod if I don’t really like it?

    Thanks

P1000 till ICS used to work with no errors except while capturing images using the camera but Jelly bean has the following errors:

    1. touch stops working.
    2. games like Temple run/ Temple run 2 hang!
    3. Camera application still has errors!

Basically the firmware JB is heavier than ICS or Gingerbread I actually want to check it few more days and them I might downgrade to ICS or Ginger bread :)

have a nice day ahead fellas!

I tried this and followed the directions “precisely” and it bricked my P1000. Cant even connect to the PC anymore. Tried to restore the backup and it had disappeared too. KIES also doesn’t connect so telling me to get the original ROM from Samsung is a useless idea.

Thank a lot for nothing. Literally…
