Install Jelly Bean Based MIUI ROM on Galaxy Nexus
The most popular custom ROM, MIUI, now based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean has been released for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it comes with fully new and unique Android experience, the ROM brings smooth and fast interface to your Galaxy Nexus, it has number of useful features such as theme manager app that gives a eye-catching look to the phone, stunning status bar app, optimized call and SMS apps, music app and more.
Read on how to install MIUI Jelly Bean custom ROM on Galaxy Nexus. Please note that this MIUI build is just for GSM Galaxy Nexus model number i9250, don’t apply on any other model or phone, you can check your device detail from Setting>About Phone.
Make sure that bootloader of your phone is unlocked and a custom recovery is installed on your phone, you can follow our this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery 6.0, and follow our this guide to unlock bootloader or use this toolkit to do everything you need. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here [Official Page ], you need to download the “maguro” version of MIUI under the 4.1.x.
Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to phone.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode volume up, volume down and power buttons.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Select “Install” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in second above step and confirm installation.
Step #8: Once the installation is done, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
That’s it, enjoy MIUI Jelly Bean on your Galaxy Nexus phone. Do comment for queries and when you need to go back to previous firmware, restore the backup you taken in installation in recovery mode.
