Install Jelly Bean CyanogenMod 10 ROM on Galaxy S Plus I9001


Owners of Samsung Galaxy S Plus GT-I9001 can now taste the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the most popular Android CyanogenMod 10 custom ROM has been released for the Galaxy S Plus, thanks to the senior XDA developer member Doomsday94. The CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) ROM is based on latest Google’s Android version Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, the Jelly Bean brings a lot of new features and apps on your Galaxy S Plus such as the smarter keyboard, expandable notification bar, advanced camera app, advanced search feature Google Now and much more.

CM10 is AOSP (Android Open Source Project) ROM, so it will give you fully stock Android Jelly Bean experience. However the CM10 custom ROM is still under development and contains some bugs currently like the camera and headset aren’t working currently, the developer will iron out them soon in near future.

Take a look at below guide to learn how to install CyanogenMod 10 on Samsung Galaxy S Plus GT-I9001, make sure a custom recovery is installed on your Galaxy S Plus, you can follow our this guide to install TWRP recovery and be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of CyanogenMod custom ROM from here [XDA Link] and Google Apps from here.

Step #2: Transfer both downloaded .zip files to the internal SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up and power buttons, when the Samsung logo shows up leave both buttons and when you see Android in box, then press Menu button to enter in recovery mode.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup, for CWM recovery, select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again and for TWRP select backup and then slide to blue circle.

Step #6: Perform wipe, for CWM select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen and for TWRP, select wipe and then select factory reset.

Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.

Step #8: Now install the ROM .zip file, for CWM select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. For TWRP select “install” and locate the ROM .zip file.

Step #9: Once again, repeat the previous step and install the Google Apps .zip file in the same manner.

Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
