Not a while ago, AOKP (Android Open Kang Project) team updated the ROM for adding Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and has been ported to a lot of Android devices, and now the AOKP Jelly Bean ROM has been updated to the build 2 and is now available for your Galaxy S3, a recognized XDA contributor bajee11 has just released the RootBOX custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S3 that based on AOKP Jelly Bean build 2 but it has more features and apps than it.
The RootBOX has lot of customization features that allow you to tweak the interface of your Galaxy S3 and has numerous useful apps such as the T9 Dialer app, ExTweaks in settings and much more. But the ROM is still being updated and currently contains a few bugs like you can’t swap internal/external SD card, however, since it’s being updated, the developer will iron out them soon in near future.

Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #2: Place both .zip files to the internal SD card of your Galaxy S3.
Step #3: Turn off your Galaxy S3.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.
Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.
Step #9: Once the RootBOX ROM .zip file is installed on your Samsung Galaxy S3, once again repeat the previous and install the Google Apps package file (gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip) in the same manner.
Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your Galaxy S3.
