Install Latest Official Android 4.0.3 ICS “DXLP9” Firmware on Galaxy Note
Samsung has released another firmware “DXLP9” officially for the Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung rolling out this first all Asian countries such as Pakistan, Malaysia, Iraq, Japan, China and more. But you can install the firmware on any Galaxy Note manually. The firmware is based on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich and has great new apps.
A few days ago Samsung released a firmware XXLPY for Germany, but that firmware has a bug that bricks your Galaxy Note when you wipe data or do a factory reset mode in recovery mode, or do anything other in recovery mode, which means you should not use recovery mode, your device may damaged in recovery mode.
If you’re interested follow below guide to install the DXLP9 firmware on your Galaxy Note but first note that this is for Samsung Galaxy Note model number N7000, you can check the device detail from Setting>About Phone. The device drivers must be installed on computer you can download 32 bit (x86) Windows from here and 64-bit (x64) Windows from here. Disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.

Step #1: Turn your Galaxy Note off.
Step #2: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up and home button until screen turn on, (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).
Step #3: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #4: Remove the battery from device.
Step #5: Re-insert the battery into device but don’t turn on the device.
Step #6: Download the DXLP9 firmware and Odin 1.85 to computer and unzip it into a single folder.
Step #7: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin 1.85.exe.
Step #8: Click on PDA Button and locate N7000DXLP9_N7000OLBLP6_N7000DXLP5_HOME.tar.md5 from the folder that you got in step 1. (Note: Don’t make any changes in Odin).
Step #9: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down Volume Down and Home and Power buttons till a warring screen appear on device, then press the Volume up button to enter in download mode.
Step #10: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear.
Step #11: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS in Odin.
Step #12: That’s it, Once the Samsung logo appear on device, disconnect the device from PC and enjoy!
