Many Android devices has got Ice Cream Sandwich update, good news for Sony Xperia Arc, a ROM based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has been leaked. It’s pre-rooted and su and busybox are already installed on ROM. Mostly things working such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GSM/WCDMA data. However as it’s leaked ROM, so some things are missing like location settings and Facebook.

So if really want to taste Ice Cream Sandwich, just follow below guide to install it but first let me tell you that it’s for just Sony Xperia Arc and Arc S running on stock 4.0.2.A.0.62 firmware, you can check information about device from Setting>About Phone, the bootloader should be unlocked, you can check this guide for bootloader.

Phone battery should be charged. Disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup to back apps, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development. The ROM hasn’t Google Apps, so must install them. Please use Windows PC.

Instructions

Step #1: Download following files: Leaked Ice Cream Sandwich ROM – Advanced Stock Kernel – Clean/Move Junk Apps flashable script package – Google Apps – ADB and Fastboot package

Step #2: Except ADB and Fastboot package and ARC-ICS-562-DooMLoRD-Advanced-Stock-v01-boot.img, transfer the downloaded above file to internal SD card of device.

Step #3: Extract the ADB and Fastboot package into a single folder on computer, after that copy the ARC-ICS-562-DooMLoRD-Advanced-Stock-v01-boot.img into that folder too, where you’ve extracted ADB and Fastboot package.

Step #4: Put phone into fastboot, just hold down the Back key and plug it to computer using USB cable.

Step #5: Open the folder where you’ve extracted ADB and fastboot package and on run commandprompt.bat  and enter following command

fastboot flash boot ARC-ICS-562-DooMLoRD-Advanced-Stock-v01-boot.img

Step #6: Now reboot device, just enter following command:

fastboot reboot

Step #7: Your phone will boot and show kernel logo, when you need LED lights up, press Back button repeatedly until you boot into Recovery Mode.

Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded leaked Ice Cream Sandwich ZIP file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation on next screen. Wait till installation complete.

Step #9: Repeat last step for application cleaner package and Google Apps package.

Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.” Once the device boot, you’ll have Ice Cream Sandwich. That’s it.
