Install Leaked Ice Cream Sandwich on Droid RAZR/RAZR MAXX, Fix Bugs

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update already has been rolled out for the Motorola RAZR and RAZR MAXX but Motorola didn’t mentioned any change logs for the update and users has reported some bugs in battery life and that’s why an Ice Cream Sandwich firmware version 6.16.214 has been leaked for both smartphones to fix battery life bugs.

Follow below guide to install leaked firmware but first make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the leaked 6.16.214 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware from here [Android Central Link].

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to the root of device’s SD card.

Step #3: Turn off device and reboot into recovery mode by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons, when a screen appear, there use volume keys to navigate and select Recovery. When the Android being operated on just  press both volume up and volume down keys.

Step #4: Now use volume down key and navigate to “Apply Update from External Storage” and press the Power Key to select it.

Step #5: At this point once again use Volume Down key to “Blur_Version.6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip ” and use Power Key to select it, it will start flashing.

    HI, I updated my phone to ice cream after phone had been flashed to frawg wireless and now phone is no longer working… Any suggestions?

      put device into recovery mode and perform wipe, for CWM, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. Lastly also select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM. Then reboot device by selecting reboot system now…..
