Install Liquid Jelly Bean on AT&T Galaxy Note

Recently the AT&T Galaxy Note received an unofficial CM10 Jelly Bean ROM developed by a XDA developer member ManelScout4Life and now he has released another Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean custom ROM, Liquid Jelly Bean, it’s AOSP (Android Open Source Project) ROM, which means, it will give you fully stock Android Jelly Bean experience along with new Jelly Bean features and apps such as Google Now, new search feature, new smarter keyboard, improved notification bar, improved camera app and much more.

The ROM is still in development stages, so bugs can be expected.

Take a look at below guide to learn how to install Liquid Jelly Bean ROM on AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-I717. Do keep in mind that TWRP Recovery must be installed on your AT&T Galaxy Note, don’t use ClockworkMod recovery, you can follow our this guide to install TWRP. Be sure make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here [XDA Link] and Google Apps from here or here.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded .zip files to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons, when device turns on, leave power button but keep holding down volume key until you enter in recovery mode (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup”, then slide to blue circle button.

Step #6: From the main menu, perform wipe, select the wipe, then select factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.

Step #8: Once the ROM .zip file is installed on the phone, also install the gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip in the same manner.

Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
