Not a while ago MIUI Jelly Bean released for the Galaxy S3 I9300 variant that now has also has been released for a US variant, AT&T Galaxy S3, thanks to senior XDA developer member Tejh who ported the MIUI Jelly Bean to AT&T Galaxy S3.

“MIUI” now based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean that features Google Now app, improved notification bar, improved keyboard, improved camera app and much more. The MIUI ROM features a unique user interface along with stunning home launcher app, the MIUI ROM has its own inbuilt theme manager app, it includes so many useful tweaks and apps. The MIUI Jelly Bean gives you a unique Jelly Bean experience.

The ROM is still in development, so bugs can be expected, currently the MIUI Jelly Bean ROM has following bugs (Aug 28):

Screen Flickers :: FIX – Disable HW Overlays
Keyboard doesn’t show up :: FIX – go to Language & Input and disable HW keyboard
MMS Doesn’t work :: FIX – Go to APN settings, click the ATT LTE APN, change Authentication Type to none and viola!

However the developer will fix these as soon as possible, read on how to install MIUI Jelly Bean ROM on AT&T Galaxy S3. Do keep in mind that ClockworkMod recovery must be installed on your phone, you can follow our this guide to install ClockworkMod and be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here [XDA LINK].

Step #2: Place downloaded .zip file to internal SD card of phone.

Step #3: Power off the phone.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by pressing and holing down volume up, home and power buttons.

Step #5: In recovery mode, first of all make nandroid backup of your current ROM, if anything not work out that you want from this ROM, you’ll be able to go back with this backup, to make the backup select “Backup and Restore”, then select “Backup”.

Step #6: Perform wipe, to do so, select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.

Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
