Install Official Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Firmware on Sony Xperia Arc LT15i

New official firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62 released for your Sony Xperia Arc that based on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. The firmware has new features, fixes and customizations. Mostly people have upgraded their devices with this firmware through OTA, but if you haven’t, you can install it manually on your Sony Xperia Arc LT15i.

Here’s guide for you to install it manually on your Sony Xperia Arc LT15i, just first make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup to back apps and and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.

Instructions

Step #1: Download Flashtool to PC and install it on PC.

Step #2: Open C drive from My Computer, go to Flashtool folder and then drivers folder

Step #3: Run Flashtool-drivers file, it’ll automatically install drivers on PC.

Step #4: Now on drivers set-up screen, click on Next, then you’ll see component selection, you just select “Arc-Play-New-Acro ADB Drivers” and “Flashmod Drivers.”

Step #5: Click on Next button, it will install ADB drivers.

Step #6: Once the above process is done, download Android 2.3.44 firmware to PC and copy it to the Flashtool\firmwares folder.

Step #7: Open Flashtool folder and run FlashTool file.

Step #8: Click on Flash button and select Flashmode.

Step #9: A list of devices will open, select LT15i from them.

Step #10: Hold down back button of phone and plug it to PC using USB cable. Flashtool app will start installation.

Step #11: Once installation done, a message saying “Flashing complete” will appear. That’s now unplug the device from PC and reboot it. Enjoy!

      make sure you’re plunging device to PC in flash mode as i mentioned the process in step 10.

    Brother i woult like to ask this version can be rooted ?? because im facing problem now i changed my 8 GB SD Card to 32 SD for my SE xperia ARC then whenever i download any programs from market and i move it to SD card and i reboot the mobile i see all programs gone just leaving icon without logo when i click on it it says the app not found how come ? i used to move all programs before on my 8GB card normally without problems why this problem happening ? ….. and if i rooted the problem will finish or this problem dosnt related by rooting or not ?

    Can you tell me if there is a difference between the lt15i and the lt15a? Mine is showing up as a lt15a.

    Where can i found original sony gingerbread firmware for my xperia p?..Now i am using jelly bean in my phone.It is not good for gaming.So i want to downgrade in gingerbread.Please help me.

    and i’m sure the i had plug in the device in flashmode

    i upgraded my phone xperia ray to unofficial Jelly Bean 4.1 then 4.2, i was not satisfied there, i tried several tutorial to get my phone back to ICS or Gingerbread but non of the official/Unofficial way could solve my problem, finally i saw this simple tutorial and i tried this, was not hopping such result but thanks to Allah i got my Gingerbread back, m much happy…………….. Thousands time thanks dear author.
