Install Official Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread XXLE2 on Galaxy S Advance
Samsung won’t release the Ice Cream Sandwich for the Galaxy S Advance but Samsung has released another XXLE2 firmware for your Samsung Galaxy S Advance that will make you happy with new changes, the firmware is based on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread.
As usual, we got a guide to install this firmware. Bear in mind that the firmware is just for Samsung Galaxy S Advance model number I9070, check the device detail from Setting>About Phone. Before you install first disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps. Also make sure you’re using Windows PC and USB drivers are installed on your PC.

Step #2: Unzip the both files into a folder and double click on Odin to run the file.
Step #3: Turn the device off and reboot into download mode by pressing Power + Volume down + Center button, you’ll see green robot, which means you’re in download mode.
Step #4: Connect the device to PC, the Odin will detect the device, you’ll see ID:COM box yellow in Odin, if Odin doesn’t detect the device, you’ve not installed the USB drivers properly.
Step #5: Click on PDA button and select the PDA file that you’ve unzipped earlier.
Step #6: Now click on Start button, it will start installation of firmware, after installation device will reboot itself. You’ll get a message saying PASS.
Step #7: If you get force close error, turn of device and reboot into recovery mode, there perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen.
Step #8: Select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
That’s it, You’re done.
