Install Official Android 4.0.3 ICS On Your Unlocked Galaxy S2 I9100
Google has already released official Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy S2, but just for some parts of Europe. Now good news for the Samsung Galaxy S2’s users of United Kingdom and Australia region can also taste Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, here’s guide for you to install it manually on your Galaxy S2.
If you’re interested follow below guide, but keep in mind that your device battery should be charged. Please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe all data, you can use file expert app to backup and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development. Then, make sure that USB debugging is checked. Samsung USB drivers should be installed on PC. Please note that the below guide is just for unlocked Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100.

Instructions
Step #1: Download specific ICS firmware for your Galaxy S2:
- I9100XWLP7 For UK and Ireland Users
- I9100XWLP8 For Australia Users on Optus network
Step #2: Turn the device off and reboot into recovery mode by select keys Home + Volume up + Power.
Step #3: In recovery mode, select wipe data / factory reset after that also in advanced, select wipe cache.
Step #4: Remove battery from device.
Step #5: Re-insert battery on device.
Step #6: Turn the device off and reboot into download mode by pressing Power + Volume down + Homesimultaneously.
Step #7: Extract downloaded file to single folder and run Odin from downloaded firmware file.
Step #8: Click on PDA button and open the folder where you’ve extracted and select .tar.md.
Step #9: Connect the device to PC using USB cable and Odin will detect the device, you’ll see ID:COM box yellow in Odin, if Odin doesn’t detect the device, you may have problem in drivers.
Step #10: In Odin click on Start button to start installation, after installation device will reboot itself. That’s it, you’ve flashed Ice Cream Sandwich on your Galaxy S2.
