Install Official Android 4.0.4 ICS XWLPM On Galaxy S2 Manually
Not a while ago a news came that Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 will stuck at Android 4.0.3 and won’t get the Android 4.0.4 update but recently a XXLQ5 firmware that based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich leaked for the original Galaxy S2, XXLQ5 leaked firmware prove the previous news wrong and now Samsung has released the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update official for the Galaxy S2 in the form of XWLPM.
The new update is just available for the Russia, however Samsung will release the update for other countries soon in near future, and here’s a step by step guide to install the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich XXLPM firmware on any Samsung Galaxy S2 manually. The update comes with numerous improvements.
If you live in Russia and own Galaxy S2 GT-I9100, on your phone go to Setting, check software update and install it other users flash the update by following below guide. Before installation first make sure that USB drivers are installed on PC, download 32 bit (x86) Windows drivers from here and download 64-bit (x64) Windows from here. Disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program and be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the XXLPM Firmware Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and also download Odin 1.85 to computer and unzip both downloaded files it into a single folder.
Step #2: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above files and run Odin.
Step #3: Make user that the device isn’t connected with computer and turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down Volume Down, Home and Power buttons until a warning screen show up on device, then press the volume up button to enter into download mode.
Step #5: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear.
Step #6: Click on PDA Button and locate I9100XWLPM_I9100OXELP8_I9100XXLQ6_HOME.tar.md5 from the folder where you’ve unzipped above files in step 1.
Step #7: Don’t make any changes any in Odin, just ensure that the re-partition option isn’t checked, then click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS. (Note: If Odin gets stuck during the installation, or shows a message FAIL, unplug the phone from PC, pull out battery from the phone, close Odin on PC, then re-insert battery back to the phone and reboot into download mode, then install the firmware again by following above steps).
Step #8: That’s it, unplug the device from PC, do note that once the phone reboot it may stuck at booting, if it happen, don’t worry just turn the phone off and put it into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons until screen turns on, then wait for a few minutes, at least for five, then select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen and once it done, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
