Install Official XWKTM Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread on Galaxy Ace S5830 Manually

Samsung has released another firmware XWKTM for the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830, the firmware is based on Android 2.3.6, it’s not Ice Cream Sandwich update but it comes with plenty of features, and as usual we’ve got a easy step by step guide to upgrade your device with latest XWKTM firmware.

Please note that your device battery should be charged. Disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.

Step #1: Download Odin  and the XWKTM 2.3.6 firmware to computer and unzip it into a single folder.

Step #2: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down volume down, home and power buttons until device boots up.

Step #5: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear.

Step #6: Click on OPS Button and locate  Cooper_v1.0.ops from the folder where you’ve unzipped above file, then click the One Package option and locate the  S5830XWKTM_S5830OXXKT3_S5830XWKT7_HOME.tar.md5 file too.

Step #7: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS.

Step #8: Unplug the device from PC and turn it off.

Step #9: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up button, power and home buttons.

Step #10: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen.

Step #11: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”

That’s it, you’re done.
