Install Official XXLH4 Android 2.3.6 firmware on Galaxy Ace 2
The latest firmware for the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160 is XXLH4 that is based on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread and now XXLH4 Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread firmware can be downloaded from Samsung KIES, but those of you can’t upgrade the Galaxy Ace 2 to Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread XXLH4 firmware via KIES, can install it manually on their phone, here’s guide to do so.
Before you install XXLH4 Android 2.3.6 stock firmware on Galaxy Ace 2 , first make sure you’re using Windows PC with USB phone drivers installed. Disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.

Step #1: Download XXLH4 Android 2.3.6 firmware for Galaxy Ace 2 to your computer and unzip it into a single folder.
Step #2: Get Odin 1.85 to your PC from file and unzip it into a folder too.
Step #3: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin.
Step #4: Turn the device off.
Step #5: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down the volume down, home and power buttons.
Step #6: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will change the color and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #7: Click on PDA Button and locate .tar/md5 file from the folder where you’ve unzipped I8160XXLH4_I8160OJVLH1_TUR.zip above file in the step 1. (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #8: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again.
