Install ParanoidAndroid ROM for Nexus 4 – features hybrid modes
Another popular custom ROM has been released for your new LG Nexus 4 – Paranoid Android ROM, this custom ROM is known for its wonderful and unique Hybrid modes, it features all UI – phone, phablet (Galaxy Note-like UI) and tablet, – you can turn your Nexus 4 into a tablet via ParanoidAndroid ROM, in fact it doesn’t a real tablet mode but offers tablet-like look and feel.
The ParanoidAndroid ROM offers impressive customization features that allow you to scale and project apps, widgets, even systemcomponents individually. You can switch the apps capability into different designs or layouts according to the device you run on. You can completely customize the system DPI, there’s nothing that haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. You just need to shrink your apps yourself.
The below guide will walk you through how to install ParanoidAndroid ROM for Nexus 4, your Nexus 4 bootloader must be unlocked and ClockworkMod recovery should be installed on it. Check out this guide to unlock bootloader and this guide to install ClockworkMod. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #1: Download following three files for your Nexus 4 from XDA:
- ParanoidAndroid ROM (download latest version)
- Google Apps Package (pa_gapps-full-4.2-20121127.zip)
- Fix (if you need)
Step #2: Place downloaded three zip files to your Nexus 4.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons to in bootloader mode, there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform wipe, select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.
Step #8: Select “Install” and locate the downloaded ParanoidAndroid ROM zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.
Step #9: Repeat the previous step again and install the Android 4.2 Google App Package zip file in the same manner.
Step #10: Once again repeat the step 8 and install fix.
Step #11: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” to restore main menu.
Step #12: Now select WIPE CACHE and confirm the action on the next screen.
Step #13: Return to main menu, select advanced and then select DALVIK CACHE and confirm action.
Step #14: Return to main menu and reboot phone, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now”.
That’s it, you’re done, the ParanoidAndroid ROM is now installed on your Google Nexus 4, enjoy its hybrids modes according to your personal choice. If you experience any error, holler comment.
