Install Pre-Rooted Android 4.1 Jelly bean update for HTC EVO 4G LTE


In the recent times the Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE received the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update through OTA (over the air) and Jelly Bean comes with a lot of new features such as Google Now app, improved keyboard app with offline voice support, improved camera app and more. The update also improves the performance of device while fixing numerous bugs and bringing HTC Sense 4=.

Of course every EVO 4G LTE users is itching to taste new Jelly Beans but some people don’t like to apply OTA updates because it voids the warranty of device but they should not be worried now because a recognized XDA developer –viperboy has released a rooted stock Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for your smartphone, it’s also a good news for those of you who’re looking for a way to root EVO 4G LTE Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware.

It’s pretty easy to install the recovery, all you need is a custom recovery, the below guide will walk you through how to install stock rooted Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware for HTC EVO 4G LTE. Make sure the phone have unlocked bootloader and TWRP Recovery installed (developer recommend TWRP), check out our this guide to unlock bootloader and install TWRP. Be sure to back up everything because installation will wipe the device, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the rooted stock Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for HTC EVO 4G LTE from here or here.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded zip file to internal SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons in bootloader mode, there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup” and slide the blue button to confirm action.

Step #6: Perform wipe, select the wipe, then select factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.

Step #8: Select “Install” and locate the downloaded ROM file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.

Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot device, the first boot may take time.

That’s it, you’re done, your Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE is now running the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean official firmware and it’s rooted, enjoy! If you experience any error, holler in comment section.
