Install Slim Bean ROM on AT&T Galaxy Note – Based on Jelly Bean

Just a few days ago, at IFA 2012 Samsung said that Galaxy Note will get the Jelly Bean update soon but when? Samsung hasn’t mentioned the date yet and we’re still waiting but those of you, who can’t wait for official release and own an AT&T Galaxy Note variant, now can try the Slim Bean ROM that based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

Slim Bean is a most slimmest custom ROM around the world, it’s very lightweight, the size is just 80MB to 100MB because it has no bloatware but brings a fast performance to your tablet and it includes number of useful features, as most of you know well that Jelly Bean introduces a lot of new features and apps such as advanced search feature, advanced notification bar, advanced keyboard app, advanced camera app and more. But the ROM is still under development and being updated, which means, it might contains some bugs and issues.

Read on how to install Slim Bean ROM on AT&T Galaxy Note, do keep in mind that TWRP recovery must be installed on your TAT&T Galaxy Note, you can follow our this guide to install TWRP recovery and you also need to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of Slim Bean ROM from here [XDA LINK] and also download Slim Google Apps package from here.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons, when the screen turns on, leave the power button but not volume buttons until you enter in TWRP recovery.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup”, then scroll the blue circle button to right and it will start backing up the device firmware.

Step #6: Perform wipe, select the wipe data, then select factory reset.

Step #7: Select “Install” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Once the ROM .zip file is installed on the device, also install Slim Google Apps package .zip file.

Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
