The popular lightweight Slim Bean is now available for another Android device, recently the Slim Bean ROM released for the Nexus 7 tablet, the ROM based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and it’s a trimmed size custom ROM, the ROM has no bloatware, the size is really small just 80MB but it’s really fast and gives you to fully stock Android Jelly Bean experience, the interface is stunning, the feature list is also remarkable like it has theme engine, customizable navigation bar, LED customization features and much more.

Take a look at below guide to learn how to install Slim Bean custom ROM on Nexus 7 tablet. Make sure that the bootloader of your Nexus 7 is unlocked and ClockworkMod recovery is installed on the device, you can WugFresh all-in-toolkit to unlock bootloader and can follow our this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery on your Nexus 7. You should make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download latest versions of following required files of Slim Bean ROM: Grouper.zip [Official Page]- Common_2.zip [Official Page] – ROM Addons (Google Now/Face Unlock packages) [Official Page]

Step #2: Transfer all .zip files to your tablet.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume down, volume up and power buttons.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything doesn’t work you want from Slim Bean, you’ll be able to go back to your previous state, so select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded grouper .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. If the installation finishes in just 5 seconds, install the file again.

Step #8: Repeat the step 7 and install common 2.zip file in the same manner.

Step #9: Once grouper and common.zip files ate installed on the device, also install ROM Addons files on by one in the same manner by repeating step 5.

Step #10: Once the installation is done, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot the device.
