Install Slim Bean ROM on Nexus S – Small But Fast Jelly Bean Based ROM
After the release of Jelly Bean source code, the team behind Slim custom ROMs has ported the Slim Bean ROM to many Android device and will port the ROM to more devices soon, recently a recognized XDA developer member named krarvind ported the ROM to Google Nexus S, it’s Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean based custom ROM.
Slim Bean is a lightweight and trimmed size custom ROM, the size is just 80 or 90MB, but it brings really a fast performance to your Nexus S, it’s fully AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based custom ROM and has right amount of useful tweaks and MODs such as Google Now, the developer also packed the ROM with many CM10 and AOKP features, it will bring a nice a interface to your Nexus S. it’s multi-language ROM.
Take a look at below guide to learn how to install Slim Bean custom ROM on the Google Nexus S, do keep in mind that the ClockworkMod recovery must be installed on your Nexus S, the bootloader of your phone also should be unlocked, you can follow this guide to install touch ClockworkMod recovery. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions
Step #1: Download following four required files: Slim Bean Custom ROM - Common_2.x.x.
Step #2: Copy both downloaded .zip files into SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so, reboot phone by holding down volume down, and power buttons, the phone will enter in fastboot mode, there use volume keys to navigate and power key to select menus, you need to select recovery option from fastboot mode to enter in recovery mode.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded Slim Bean ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation (Note: The phone may reboot during the installation, after rebooting, the installation will start again itself, if the phone doesn’t continue the installation, repeat this step again).
Step #8: Repeat last step to install command .zip file.
Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot the phone.
