Not a while ago, Android community successfully unlocked the bootloader of Verizon Galaxy S3 and now we’re able to see many releases from development community for the smartphone, here’s another custom ROM for the phone, Slim Bean.

Recently Slim Bean ROM has just released for the Verizon  Galaxy S3 that based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, the ROM is well-known due to its trimmed size, it’s really light weight ROM that has no bloatware but brings a smooth interface, both ROM and OS (Jelly Bean) features list is really impressive such as advanced notification bar, advanced camera app, advanced keyboard, useful Google Now app and much more. It boost the performance of device and the battery life, it will give you stock Jelly Bean experience.

The ROM is still under development stages and might contains some bugs and issues but the Slim team will iron out them soon in near future.

Take a look at below guide to learn how to install Slim Bean ROM on Verizon Galaxy S3, the bootloader of your phone must be unlocked and ClockworkMod recovery also should be installed, you can follow our this guide to unlock bootloader and this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery.  You also need to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the following Slim ROM files: d2vzw – Common_2.*.zip (Download latest version)

Step #2: Place the both downloaded .zip files to the internal SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons until screen turns on.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded  d2vzw file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation (Note: If installation finishes in less than five seconds, install it again).

Step #8: Once again, repeat the last step and also install Common_2.*.zip file in the same manner.

Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”

That’s it, the Slim Bean ROM is now installed on your Verizon Galaxy S3. Please note that Google Now, face unlock and Google Addons are not included in the ROM, so you have to install them manually, to install download them from here, then boot device into recovery mode and install these .zip files.
