Install Slim ICS custom ROM on HTC One X, Simple and Very Fast
HTC One X is very successful HTC’s smartphone, some custom ROMs are already available for the smartphone and now another custom ROM named Slim ICS is also available for the device, its size is extremely small and based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The ROM comes without HTC Sense UI and it has no bloatware too, it’s AOSP based custom ROM that will give you a complete stock Android experience. The ROM has many useful features like number of customization options, five different languages, lighting launcher, different lockscreen options and you can take the screenshots too using Nav Bar. However it’s still in development and Wi-Fi tethering isn’t working, when you focus on force closes, camera also will not work. But soon developer will fix them.
Read on how to install Slime ICS custom ROM on HTC One X but first please bear in mind that ClockworkMod recoverymust be installed on your device and its booloader should be unlocked too. You can use this toolkit to unlock bootloader and install ClockworkMod recovery too. Device battery should be charged, make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup to back apps, and USB drivers should be installed on PC, you can use HTC sync to install USB drivers but during installation HTC Sync should not be running.

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here, you’ll need three files Base_HTC_.zip , EndeavorU_Essentials.zip and Slim_Gapps.zip then copy it to the device’s SD card.
Step #2: Download Flash_Boot.zip and unzip into a folder on computer, then unzip EndeavorU_Essentials.zip that you downloaded in first step, you’ll get boot.img copy it to the flashzip folder too.
Step #3: Turn the device off and reboot into bootloader mode by pressing and holding down Volume down and power button, there use volume keys to navigate and power to select, and select fastboot mode.
Step #4: Once you’re in fastboot mode plug the device to PC using USB cable, open the folder where you’ve unzipped above files and double click on flash-boot-windows.bat, a window will appear installing the required kernel, once it done it will close itself.
Step #5: Unplug the device from PC, and on device select HBOOT, then select RECOVERY.
Step #6: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #7: Go back to main menu and perform full wipe, first select Wipe Data/Factory Reset and confirm then select Wipe Dalvik Cache and confirm. After that select mounts and storage, then select format system and confirm it.
Step #8: From main recovery menu, select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the Base_HTC_*.*.zipdownloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation and wait until installation complete. Installation should take time, up to six seconds. If it completes in less than five second, repeat this step again.
Step #9: Repeat last step to install EndeavorU_Essentials.zip. Then also repeat last step to install Slim_Gapps.zip too.
Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
