Install Stable CyanogenMod 9 on Galaxy S2 HD LTE

CM9 team releasing the CyanogenMod 9 custom ROM on as many ROMs as possible and with candidate for CM9 released developers has obtained the ROM for other Android devices and one build is also available for Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE, thanks to senior XDA developer dsixda for this effort, but it’s unofficial build.

The ROM is based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and is still in development and has some bugs but don’t be worried it’s very stable for daily use and mostly things are working fine, just front camera isn’t working fine, it’s very worthy to try the most popular AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based CyanogenMod (CM) 9 on your Galaxy S2 HD LTE.

Before the installation of ROM, first make sure that latest ClockworkMod recovery is installed on your smartphone and be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest build of CyanogenMod 9 and Google Apps from here.

Step #2: Copy the both downloaded files to the SD card of your phone.

Step #3: Turn the phone off and reboot into recovery mode by volume up, volume down and power buttons until you Samsung logo appear on the device.

Step #4: Make a nandroid backup of your current ROM, if anything doesn’t work you’ll be able to easily revert back, to do so select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #5: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #6: Flash CM9 file, just select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate CM9, after that also install Google Apps in the same manner.

That’s it, you’re done enjoy CM9 on your Galaxy S2 HD LTE.
