Install TWRP 2.1 Recovery On Your HTC One X

TWRP recovery allows you to install custom ROMs, kernel, apply hacks, and more, it’s customizable recovery and features touchscreen-centric GUI, recently we posted the installation of TWRP 2.1 recovery on Galaxy Nexus and Acer Iconia A100, and now the TWRP also available for HTC One X, continue reading to install the TWRP recovery on your HTC One X and enjoy a new touch-based interface on your HTC smartphone.

Before you start first keep in mind the bootloader of your HTC One X must be unlocked with S-Off, device drivers should be installed on PC, you can install drivers via HTC Sync (after installation of drivers close HTC Sync during installation of recovery)and ADB also must be installed on computer. The device battery should be charged and make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download TWRP 2.1 and Fastboot package to computer.

Step #2: Unzip fastboot on PC and copy TWRP img file into fastboot folder.

Step #3: Turn the device off and reboot into bootloader mode by holding down Volume down and power button. Once you’re in bootloader mode use volume keys to navigate and power to select, then select Fastboot from bootloader mode.

Step #4: Once you’re in fastboot mode, plug the device to PC using USB cable, a message “FASTBOOT USB” on bootloader screen.

Step #5: Open command prompt and navigate to fastboot folder, then enter following command to check the device is connected to PC (Note: It will show serial number of device).

Step #6: Type other commands to install recovery:

fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-endeavoru-2.1.2.img

fastboot reboot

Once you’ve enter above commands the device will reboot itself with TWRP recovery installed. When you need to reboot the device into recovery turn the device off and reboot into bootloader mode then select recovery. That’s it enjoy!
