Install Ubuntu Touch Developer Preview For Nexus 10 P8110
Canonical has released the Ubuntu Touch developer preview for a few Android devices and the Samsung Nexus 10 is one of luck device from them. The Ubuntu Touch developer preview includes just basic apps currently such as phone app, SMS app, shell and core apps, GSM network connection ability, networking via Wifi, camera app, and device accessible through the Android Developer Bridge tool (adb).
However the developer will hopefully bump more handy apps to OS soon, the most notable thing is that apps would be universal, one would be able to access them on all devices such as phone, tablet, computer and TV. However the developer preview should be enough to experience the Linux OS at this time.
This guide shows you how to install Ubuntu Touch Developer Preview for Google Nexus 10 P8110. Your Nexus 10 will be wiped, so make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use the carbon Android app to backup apps and data, though the APN setting automatically restored from network, it make mobile date work, but if it doesn’t happen to you, restore it manually, you can use APN app to do so.
Your Nexus 10 tablet must have unlocked bootloader, check this guide to unlock bootloader. You need a Linux computer (Ubuntu is best), charge your battery, turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.
