Install UCLG9 Android 4.0.4 ICS firmware on Samsung Captivate Glide [Leaked]

Mostly latest Android devices gets leak firmware updates before the release of official updates, the new leak firmware is for Samsung Captivate Glide SGH-I927, the phone is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread but a recognized XDA developer member designgears has leaked UCLG9 firmware that based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich that suggest Captivate Glide will get Ice Cream Sandwich soon in near future.

If you can’t wait for the official Ice Cream Sandwich update, you can install Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update on Samsung Captivate Glide I927 manually. But do keep in mind that since this is leaked update, you can expect bugs, however it should be stable for the daily drive.

Read on how to update Samsung Captivate Glide i927 to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich via UCLG9. Use a Windows PC and USB device drivers must be installed on the PC, you can use Samsung KIES to install the drivers but during installation Samsung Kies should be disabled, also disable other system tools such as antivirus, firewall program. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich UCLG9 (I927UCLG9_OneClick.exe, md5sum: E04C404651BB7E0ED3BF0CD65C24BC9A) to your PC.

Step #2: Turn off your Captivate Glide.

Step #3: Reboot phone into download mode by holding down volume up and power buttons, leave volume up when options show up, then press the volume up again to enter in download mode.

Step #4: On the PC, run I927UCLG9_OneClick.exe file to open Odin.

Step #5: Plug the device to PC using USB cable, PC will install drivers automatically, once drivers are installed, you’ll get a message ADDED on Odin that means device are successfully connected to PC, if Odin doesn’t show the ADDED message, drivers aren’t properly installed on the PC.

Step #6: Click on Start button to start installation. Once the installation is done, the device will reboot itself, you’ll get a message PASS on Odin.

Great job, the leaked Ice Cream Sandwich firmware is now installed on your phone. Unplug the phone from PC.
